Luxury Resorts for a Winter Escape
Four Seasons Resort Orlando – This Luxury resort at Disney World provides a bougie guest experience. Complete with a water park, adults only pool, lazy river, spa and more, guests can enjoy the magic of Disney while staying in luxury.
The Four Seasons Resort Orlando is a great option If you are planning to spend some time at the parks as well as some time relaxing at the hotel.
Waldorf Astoria Orlando – Step into luxury in this newly renovated hotel, also near Disney World. The highlight of this property is a full remodel of all rooms, suites, lobby and restaurants.
If you enjoy playing golf, this property should be high on your list with a newly updated 18-hole course.
Ritz Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes – Looking to stay in luxury? The Ritz Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes is my favorite resort property.
With the highest standard of luxury, you can truly enjoy a whimsical retreat. Visiting during the holidays? You’re in for a treat as the resort does a fabulous job decorating and getting their guests in the holiday spirit.

Family Friendly Resorts and Hotels
Gaylord Palms Resort – The Gaylord Palms Resort is a great option for families because it is in the center of the action with easy access to all the theme parks and International Drive.
It is also home to ICE! during the holidays, a must-visit winter wonderland experience. Even if you aren’t staying at the hotel, purchasing tickets to experience ICE! Is a must-do on your next trip to Orlando!
My family has experienced ICE! multiple years and it is a lot of fun for people of all ages.
Loews Royal Pacific Resort – Planning to visit Universal? Loews Royal Pacific Resort is a great option.
This resort blends the tropical ambience of paradise with the convenience of theme park perks. Staying here can earn you early admission to the parks, priority seating and more!
Margaritaville Resort Orlando – It’s always Five O’Clock in Margaritaville! This resort is one that I feel like I could check into and then never leave.
With multiple restaurants, a spa and a full water park, there is plenty to do to keep everyone entertained.
If your family needs more space, you can opt for one of Margaritaville’s cottages. These cottages are equipped with multiple bedrooms, full kitchens and more to help your stay feel like home away from home.
Budget-Friendly & Mid-Range Orlando Stays
Holiday inn Resort Orlando Suites – This all suite hotel is a great option for families and more on the budget friendly side.
Complete with a waterpark and five on site restaurants, you can find fun for everyone here! The rooms vary from one-bedroom suites to three bedroom suites.
Rosen Shingle Creek – With prime access to all the most popular tourist attractions, the Rosen Shingle Creek is a great option if you’re planning a wide variety of activities in Orlando.
It is also just 10 minutes from the airport, adding extra convenience for your stay.
This property does have over 1,500 guest rooms so be prepared for a much larger hotel with many guests.
Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando Lake Buena Vista – In my opinion, this is the most underrated hotel in Orlando, especially if you’re visiting Disney World!
With free breakfast, shuttle service to the parks and a free 5:30pm Kickback (heavy appetizers), this is the most cost-friendly way to experience the convenience of a Disney hotel without the price tag.

Unique and Boutique Hotels In Orlando
The Inn at Celebration – A trip to Orlando would not be complete without visiting the cute “town that Disney built”.
Celebration is a charming storybook town (I may be biased as I did live there for a few years) and the Inn at Celebration is the perfect boutique stay for your next trip.
Even if just for a night, browse through the downtown boutiques, have a delicious dinner (I recommend Reggiano’s) and enjoy the sunset over the lake.
Alfond Inn – Located in the artistic and cultural town of Winter Park, the Alfond Inn showcases elegance and style. This stay is an integrated art experience where you can view the renowned Alfond collection.
If you are planning to spend some time in the cute town of Winter Park, I recommend taking a boat tour through the channel of lakes and canals.
You will get to view some amazing homes and natural preservation areas from water.
Lake Nona Wave Hotel – Located outside the center of Orlando, the Lake Nona Wave hotel is truly one of a kind. It is the world’s most technologically advanced hotel. Blending technology with well-being, this hotel provides a one of a kind experience for guests.
I recommend this hotel if you aren’t looking to stay in the center of Orlando and prefer a more secluded experience.
Tips for Booking a Winter Stay in Orlando
When to Visit
Planning a winter getaway to Orlando is all about timing, location, and finding the perfect balance between value and convenience.
The best time to visit is between December and February, when the weather is mild, the skies are clear, and the theme park crowds are lighter than in spring or summer.
However, if you’re traveling during the holidays — especially Christmas through New Year’s — it’s smart to book your hotel at least two to three months in advance, as prices and occupancy both skyrocket during peak holiday weeks.
Where to Stay
When it comes to choosing where to stay, your location can make or break your trip. If theme parks are your main focus, Lake Buena Vista offers proximity to Disney with plenty of resort-style hotels and family-friendly amenities.
For a more local experience with boutique stays, trendy restaurants, and walkable streets, Winter Park is an excellent choice just north of downtown.
Meanwhile, International Drive (I-Drive) is ideal if you want easy access to attractions like ICON Park, outlet shopping, and diverse dining options.
Extra Perks
Before you finalize your booking, always check for extra resort fees, parking costs, and shuttle availability — these small details can significantly impact your overall budget
Don’t forget to look for seasonal deals or loyalty program perks that can stretch your travel dollars further. With a little planning and flexibility, you can find the perfect Orlando hotel or resort for your winter escape — one that fits your travel style, itinerary, and budget!
